Resolve Systems (formerly known as gen-E), provider of a fully integrated approach to accelerating incident resolution in network and IT operations, today announced that two veteran executives, Paul Gibson and Larry Lien, have joined the company’s management team. Paul Gibson, the company’s new General Counsel, and Larry Lien, the Vice President of Product Management, bring vast enterprise technology industry experience to their respective roles at Resolve Systems. Gibson brings nearly 15 years of experience serving the legal needs of technology companies, both as outside counsel and in-house, including serving as General Counsel for InQuira prior to its acquisition by Oracle, and will manage all of Resolve Systems legal affairs. Lien’s 20-year career in managing product portfolios for global enterprise software companies, most recently at Tyco Security Products, makes him an ideal fit for Resolve Systems.

In addition to serving as General Counsel for InQuira, Gibson spent several years in Tokyo handling technology licensing matters for Sumitomo Corporation. After returning to the U.S., he joined Kaye Scholer, LLP where he focused on complex technology licensing and acquisition transactions. His international experience notwithstanding, Gibson is a seasoned veteran of Silicon Valley, including nearly a decade practicing law at tech stalwarts Cooley LLP and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, handing a wide range of matters including licensing, joint ventures, development collaborations, mergers and acquisitions. Gibson has deep experience in software, but has represented clients across the technology spectrum, including in the petrochemical and pharmaceuticals industries, as well as traditional brick and mortar businesses.

Larry Lien has more than 20 years of product management, marketing and business strategy experience which equipped him to successfully deliver products and services to the enterprise IT and security marketplace. Prior to joining Resolve Systems, Lien was the VP of Product Management and Portfolio Strategy at Tyco Security Products where he was responsible for driving unified, solution-based global product strategy and growth for a billion dollar security products portfolio. His previous role, as VP of Product Management for Proximex, placed Lien in a strategic position to assist in the eventual acquisition of Proximex by Tyco. He held the role of Chairman of the PSIA, a security standards organization, and has also held key leadership positions in product management, marketing and business strategy at IBM/Tivoli, NetIQ, Resonate, Nortel Networks, Intel and Accenture. Lien will be responsible for creating and implementing a cohesive product marketing strategy, and product direction, for the company’s RESOLVE Software System.
